Opportunity unmissable for students and researchers: the Acoustics and Vibrations Laboratory (LAVI), Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in partnership with Petrobras, opens vacancies for participation in a Research & Development Project on the topic “Drilling Column Dynamics”.

Requirements: Master's degree in Engineering (or related areas) who do not yet have a defined supervisor;
Remuneration: research grant, between R$3.800,00 and R$5.000,00 per month.
Project activities: Investigate and compare different drilling concepts; Model and simulate the nonlinear dynamics of oil drilling strings; fluid-structure interaction and drill-rock interaction
Duration of scholarships: 12 months (which can be extended if the project is extended).
Requirements: PhD in Engineering (or related fields);
Remuneration: research grant, between R$7.370,00 and R$10.000,00 per month.
Project activities: use Abaqus software to study thermal, abrasiveness and pumping pressure effects in the context of drill string dynamics.
Duration of scholarships: 12 months (which can be extended if the project is extended).
Availability 20 hours per week.

A FAPERJ Scientific Board disclosed, in this Thursday, February 13, the opening of first registration window to the "Masters and Doctorate Scholarship Program Grade 10"The call is intended to stimulate the excellence in postgraduate studies in the state of Rio de Janeiro through the granting of scholarships with different values to master's and doctoral students who present outstanding academic performance. According to the rules of the program, the Grade 10 scholarships contemplate only the last 12 months of course for master's students (13th to 24th month) and last 24 months of course for doctoral students (25th to 48th month) – months should be counted from the date of entry to the postgraduate course informed in the university history.
