Pedagogical Project

triangleThe Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Course at the Polytechnic School of UFRJ:

Filled ballIt offers its students a variety of opportunities for professional technical-scientific training;

Filled ballIt enables a solid understanding of the general foundations of Mechanical Engineering and its application to several of its areas of specialization.

trianglePedagogical Project of the Course is a public document and is available for consultation.

Goal

triangleThe general objective of the Course is to provide students with:

Filled ballThe development of their professional and technical-scientific skills;

Filled ballThe acquisition of specialized knowledge applicable to engineering problems;

Filled ballMastery of methods and techniques for the analysis, design and construction of complex mechanical systems.

triangleThe Course is structured to be completed in ten semester periods by students with full dedication.

Activities

triangleIn addition to classes, exams and other school activities, students are encouraged to dedicate themselves to ongoing activities in the laboratories. In these, various studies and projects are carried out, such as: preparation of didactic and illustrative experiments, service provision activities, research activities, etc.

triangleResearch activities often involve undergraduate students in collaboration with postgraduate students, under the guidance and supervision of faculty.

triangleIn the final periods of the Course, students must engage in a Curricular stage, normally carried out in an environment - company, industry, laboratory, etc. - in which they must face the real conditions of the professional performance of the mechanical engineer.

triangleThe last stage of the Course is the Final project, whose theme is defined jointly by the student and his/her supervising teacher.

triangleThe preparation of the Final Project aims to exercise the application of acquired knowledge, methods and techniques for designing mechanical systems and equipment, in situations that simulate real conditions of the professional performance of the mechanical engineer.

Destination of Graduates

triangleGraduates of the Mechanical Engineering Course at UFRJ easily find interesting positions in the job market, with a high approval rate for graduates in various types of selection processes.

triangleOften, before the end of the Course, several graduates already have professional commitments with companies, industries or other institutions.

triangleGraduates who choose to pursue postgraduate studies are generally accepted without difficulty into master's or doctoral programs at the universities to which they apply.

Review
