The Pulmonary Assessment and Rehabilitation Research Laboratory (LIRP/UFRJ) was created in 2019 and registered in the CNPq research groups directory in May 2021, in the Department of Cardiorespiratory and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy of the newly created Faculty of Physiotherapy at UFRJ. The objectives are: 1) to qualify and educate professionals and researchers in the areas of physiotherapy and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation; 2) to develop evaluation and intervention projects in cardiorespiratory rehabilitation; 3) to provide an environment for discussion among researchers from different institutions and health areas on the group's theme; 4) to organize scientific events in the thematic areas; 5) to promote exchange with institutions with outstanding recognition in scientific production (national and international); 6) to obtain resources from funding agencies for the development of projects; and 7) to contribute to the growth and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the area.
