Areas of Concentration
As Areas of Concentration define broad domains of knowledge to which regular activities refer Teaching and research carried out in Mechanical Engineering Program.
Active Areas of Concentration:
Acoustics, Vibrations and Dynamics
Fluid Mechanics
Solid Mechanics and Mechanical Integrity of Materials
Design, Manufacturing and Robotics
Thermosciences and Thermal Engineering
Interdisciplinary Area: High Performance Computing
Computer Simulation in Engineering
Courses
In relation to each of the Areas of ConcentrationThe Disciplines deal with:
Basic contents;
Advanced content.
For Course levelsThe Disciplines are classified in the:
Master's Level;
Doctoral level.
Master's Seminar
As part of the requirements to become a Master's Candidate, every student Enrolled in the Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Program should present a Master's Seminar. See specific Regulation.
Final Work
A Masters dissertation is the last requirement of the Course to be fulfilled by students to obtain the degree of Mestre em Mechanical Engineering.
A Doctoral thesis is the last requirement of the Course to be fulfilled by students to obtain the degree of Doctor em Mechanical Engineering.
The theme of Final Work (Dissertation or Thesis) must be agreed between the student and his/her professor-advisor.
Academic Orientation
Each student is accompanied by a Academic Advisor, who must be available to assist you in addressing any matter concerning the progress of the Course.
