19 11 PEM Icarus UFRJ NewsThe team Icarus UFRJ of Formula SAE, in partnership with Ipiranga and the initiative Girls Like Racing, held the event “My place in Engineering” em 11 November, aimed at female Innovation students. The meeting promoted discussions on career and challenges in the job market, in addition to sharing inspiring stories of women engineers, especially in the context of UFRJ.

The director of the Polytechnic School, Claudia Morgado, addressed gender issues and the importance of representation, highlighting its own trajectory as the first woman to occupy the board of directors. Daniela Uziel, from the Innovation Center, and Alice Ferruccio, from the Career and Entrepreneurship area, also highlighted the relevance of the event to promote diversity and exchange of experiences among women in the sector.

The program included lectures, an interactive workshop and a raffle of products from the Linky Store. Fernanda Azevedo, from the Ícarus team, celebrated the initiative as a important step towards empowering future female engineers, addressing the still predominant male scenario in areas of innovation.
